A Ford dealership located in Kansas, known as Rusty Eck Ford, recently experienced a troubling incident involving the distribution of racially offensive material to its customers.

The event unfolded when two employees were dismissed after it was discovered that a racial slur had been printed on oil-change reminder stickers that were handed out during routine vehicle service appointments.

The incident first came to public attention when Larry Martin Jr., a loyal and long-standing customer of the dealership, received a sticker bearing the offensive message after his car was serviced. Shocked and humiliated by the unexpected and inappropriate language, Martin was taken aback, especially considering his positive relationship with the dealership over the years.

Further investigation into the matter revealed that the offensive message was not an isolated occurrence. In fact, three other customers had also received similar stickers containing the racially charged language. Recognizing the severity of the situation, the dealership promptly reached out to these affected customers, offering formal apologies for the distress caused.

The dealership’s management took swift action to address the issue, which was initially brought to their attention on September 7, 2026, when a customer noticed the offensive sticker from a visit made in July.

This discovery prompted an internal review to determine how such a message could have been generated and distributed through their systems.

As part of their response, Rusty Eck Ford launched a comprehensive investigation to identify the source of the racial slur within their processes. The investigation uncovered that the offensive message had been manually entered into their customer communication system by one of the employees.

Moreover, it was revealed that a second employee had noticed the inappropriate content but failed to report or escalate the incident, which contributed to the continued distribution of the offensive stickers.

In light of these findings, the dealership took disciplinary action by terminating both employees involved. One employee was dismissed for directly entering the racial slur into the system, while the other was let go for neglecting to report the misconduct.

Overall, the event underscores the importance of diligent monitoring of internal processes and the need for a strong ethical standard within business operations to uphold customer trust and company integrity.
